Ophthalmologist 

Duties and responsibilities: 
Ophthalmologist treat any illnesses and diseases that affect the eye. They are "eye doctors". It is their responsibility to examine and provide any contact lenses and glasses. It is required that they have strong physics and math skills. They must also have medical knowledge. Having administrative skills are also very helpful for them, because they may practice at their own place. To add on, they perform surgery to be able to treat any eye problems. It is also their responsibility to be an expert in diseases, functions, and anatomy of the eye. It is their job to examine their patient, to be able to test their vision. They perform certain eye motions to check that all the muscles are working correctly. In addition, they also test the pressure inside your eye to check for any eye complications. In conclusion, it is an Ophthalmologist's responsibility to check their patients, and to be able to treat, diagnos, and prevent any eye problems. If you ever have any eye problems, the correct thing to do it go to an ophthalmologist, to get checked up. This is why they are very important. 

Salary: $197,700. (annually) 

Education: You must complete medical school. To add on, it is required to have 3-8 years of internship or residency.  You must have a state license. To add on, you must have a bachelor's degree.  

Demand or need for this profession: Growing 14% from 2014-2024.

Reflection: Do you think you would like to be one? Why? Why not? 
I would not like to be one because it is something that I would not enjoy to do. It is a medical career that does not interest me. I would not like to perform surgery on someone's eyes, because it is something that would really scare me. I would not be able to do it.
