Social Workers

I chose this topic because it is a very interesting career, that I am interested in. I would like to help people that are having problems, and make a safe environment for everyone. A social worker helps people cope and solve everyday problems that they are going through.To add on, they help diagnose and treat mental, behavioral, and emotional issues. A social worker has many daily responsibilities. Some of their duties are looking for communities that are in the need for help, helping their patients adjust to a new change in life, and stay in touch with every client, to make sure that their situation is better. In addition, a social worker mostly works at a hospital, clinic, nursing care facility, schools, colleges, and child welfare agencies. In order to become a social worker, you need a bachelor’s degree in social work, and a license or certificate, which is only required in some states. There is no training that is required. Some of the important skills that is needed to be a social worker is communication skills, empathy, interpersonal skills, organizational skills, problem-solving skills, and time-management skills. The median annual pay for a social worker is $46,890. The lowest earned is $28,000, while the highest earned was $78,510. This career is growing 12% from 2014-2024. There are different types of social workers, such as a Child and Family social workers, Clinical social workers, School social workers, healthcare social workers, and Mental health and substance abuse social workers. As you can see, there are a variety of different types of social workers that you can choose from.  This career is really important, because you are able to help many others that are having problems, and do not know what to do. You have to be there for them, and help them cope with their issues.

Tour Manager

Duties and responsibilities:
They are responsible for organizing events for artists or musical groups. The tour manager handles financial. They give information on the cost of tickets, and they are responsible for calculating the cost of lights, cameras, sound, and other equipment that will be needed. To add on, it is their job to contact promoters to be able to give out the correct information out. A daily thing that they have to do is buy food for the after show, make sure to book hotel rooms, travel with the artist on tour, making sure that they venue where the performance will be at is ready to go, and they need to make sure that they order supplies that may be needed such as drums, guitars, and guitar strings. Some of the skills that you need to have are good listening skills, problem solving skills, communication skills, and they must have creativity. As you can see, these are just some of the things that a tour manager has to do on the daily, but there are many more things that they need to do.  

Salary: $55,199

Education: It is recommended to have a bachelor’s degree. To add on, you must have experience.

Reflection: Do you think you would like to be one? Why? Why not?
I would like to be a tour manager. The reason why is because it is something that i would really enjoy to do. I would enjoy being able to travel, and going many places. To add on, i would love to be able to organize concerts and events. This is why I would like to be a tour manager.
