Operating Room Technician 
Duties and responsibilities:  
They are responsible for making sure that they prepare the operating room. It is their responsibility to make sure that all the supplies and tools that are needed are ready and in place. An operating room technician must make sure that while the operating is being done, that they do not misplace any supplies. They must also provide assistance during the operation. After the operation is done, they must clean up all the supplies and tools. They work in hospitals, care centers, and surgical centers, where there is most likely to be more operating rooms. To add on, they normally take samples after an operation, and take it to the pathology department. It is their responsibility to make sure that they respond to whatever is told to them, without having to be told what to do. They must also be very organized, and have everything in order. This medical career is very important, because you get to help many people, if they are injured. You get to treat them so that they can get better. This is why an operating room technician is very important.  

Salary: Average salary is $45,940, annually. 

Education requirements: You must graduate from a surgical technology program. You must have a 9-15 month certificate or diploma programs, or a two years associates degree program. It is required to have medical training in anatomy, physiology, and pharmacology.  

Demand or need for this profession: Growing 15% from 2014-2024.

Reflection: Do you think you would like to be one? Why? Why not? 
I would not like to be an operating room technician. The reason why is because I would not be able to handle the blood that there will be. It is a career that does not interest me, and it is something that I would not enjoy to do.
