Veterans Day

Veterans day is a holiday, that is held on the anniversary of the ending of World War 1. The date is November 11. It is to honor US veterans and victims of all wars. It was fomally called Armistice day, but later on took place on November 11. It is very important to show honor on Veterans Day, because we need to show our gratitude to those who lost their lives, in order to get freedom for our country. We need to reflect on all of them, and on their sacrifice that they made. It is important to honor all the men and women who served the country. To add on, honoring them is a way to acknowledge their sacrafices. 

Ways to show honor and respect on Veterans Day:

• It can be as simple as saying thank you to a veteran.
• Writing a letter to a soldier.
• Visit wounded veterans in the hospital.
• Place flowers or a flag on Veterans grave.
• Take a moment of silence to remember those who lost their life.
• Teach others about the history of Veterans.
• Deliver care packages to a Veteran.

My thoughts on Veterans day is that it is a very important day. It is very important to honor those who lost their life in war, or are disabled. We all need to take a moment of silence on this day, to say thank you. There are different ways that you can honor them as you see, you can even say a simple thank you. I think that we should all appreciate them, for everything that they have done to serve our country. We should also give their families a hug for being very strong. This is why i think that this is a very important day.
