Therapist

Duties and responsibilities:
A therapist’s job is to help patients overcome mental disorders that affects them in their daily life. They always help patients get past their symptoms and they analyze the cause of mental instability. The therapist also talks to their patients about what is stressing them out and if they are having any problems. It can also be family problems that can be affecting them. One of their responsibilities is to talk to other people to find out more about what is causing their patients problems. They can also give them a plan on things such as how to manage stress. If the patient is having family problems, they discuss the progress towards their relationship. One of their responsibilities is to at least give the patient a therapy session with a group and as an individual at least once a week. They also have many goals that the patient and the therapist set in order to see progress when one is accomplished. As you can see, a therapist can do a huge difference on a person’s life because it helps the person talk out their feelings and what is going through their mind.

Salary: $82,390.

Education: You must have experience, a license, a degree in psychology or counseling, and you must have a master’s degree.

Demand for this profession: Growing 34% from 2014-2024.


Reflection: Do you think you would like to be one? Why? Why not?

I would like to be a therapist because i would like to give people advice when they need it. I am the type of person to always ask what is wrong if someone is sad, so i think it is something that i would like to do. To add on, i would like to help people when they need it, and be there for them. It is a career that i would do.
