Environmental Health Specialist

Duties and responsibilities:
Environmental health specialist are people who are concerned over the environment, and health and safety of the community. One thing that they are responsible for is the sanitation of water and food. Environmental health specialist are responsible for checking products such as dairy, to check if they don’t have poor sanitation, or if they simply don’t work anymore. They need to make sure it is good. They also need to handle the amount of waste that the community has, such as infectious waste that is bad, or trash. One thing that they need to be good at is using computers and high technology. They have to do this because they are responsible for analyzing samples and collecting information for whatever they need to look for. They also have to inform the community about what is happening. In conclusion, it is their responsibilities to help keep the community safe, clean, and informed.

Salary: $41,880 (average)

Education: Required to have Bachelor’s degree, degree on the field, a certificate, and experience required.

Demand for this profession: Growing 11% from 2014-2024.


Reflection: Do you think you would like to be one? Why? Why not?

I would like to be one because i would like to help the community if there is any problem such as poor food sanitation, or other things. This is a career that i would enjoy doing, because it will involve me helping others. I will also help people on what they can do to make it better. I would like to be an environmental health specialist.
