Health Educator

Duties and responsibilities:
Health educators teach people about promoting wellness. They teach their community about making good health choices. They also develop strategies to help the community and individuals. They do this to help prevent diseases. They develop many goals for their patients. To add on, they study diagnosis to inform the health education program. Some places that they promote their programs are in schools, workshops, and conferences. They work at hospitals or clinics. Another thing that they do is conduct health surveys, to see what the community thinks about it. They provide their information to the public by preparing presentations and conducting media campaigns. In conclusion, health educators are all about keeping their community safe and healthy.

Salary: $43, 840 per year or $21.08 an hour.

Education: Bachelor’s degree. Must have high school diploma. Require the Certified Health Education Specialist Credential.

Demand or need for this profession: growing 13% from 2014-2024.


Reflection: Do you think you would like to be one? Why? Why not?

I would like to be a health educator. I think that it is good that they come up with many ideas and goals on how to keep our community safe and healthy. It is something that would interest me and i would like to be one.
