Emergency Medical Technician

Duties and responsibilities:

An emergency medical technician is most likely to be found working on an ambulance. Many people confuse an EMT with an ambulance driver or ambulance attendants. They are very different because a EMT is a trained person who gives services to a person who has injuries and during the ride to the hospital. One thing that they do is perform medical services and transport patient to a hospital. They need to be trained very well and they receive courses which consist of lectures. The main thing that a EMT does is take care of patients who have been in an accident such as a car crash or something else. They also have to transport them to the medical facility. You must know how to control an emergency scene such as bleeding, and performing CPR to the patient. As you can see, being an EMT can be a big responsibility.

Salary: $31,700 (annually).

Education requirements: You will need a high school diploma, and a diploma or associate’s degree from an EMT program.

I would like to be one because I would like to be able to help people when they need it. Even though i will probably be scared the first few days, it will be worth it because i will be helping people. It is a job that i will take seriously.
