Health Sciences Librarian

Duties and responsibilities:
A health sciences Librarian is the person who provides access to medical information throughout books. To add on, they also provide information through pamphlets, booklets, tapes, presentation, and the internet. They help people such as patients, health providers, and students. A health science librarian can work in such as The Library of a Health Organization, Health Information centers, and Medical schools. One of the things that they are responsible for is making sure people find a reliable resource, so they help others find what they need. In addition, they are experts at creating a web page, to be able to provide more medical information for their community. This is why they are important, because we can rely on them to provide us good health information that can be useful.

Salary: Average $58,000 annually.

Education requirements: Must finish high school. It is required to have a 4 year bachelor’s degree, which includes courses such as science and computer science. It is also required to have a master’s degree in library, which is mandatory.

Demand: Slowing down 2% from 2014-24.


Reflection: Do you think you would like to be one? Why? Why not?

I would not like to do this career. The reason why is because it is something that does not really interest me. It is a good career, but it is not something that i would like to do.
