Homecoming 2016

Homecoming is the tradition of welcoming back students. They also celebrate the school’s existence. Homecoming is a tradition done in many high schools and colleges. In 1911, the first homecoming game and dance was announced. It was Kansas vs Missouri that played at the game. The tradition of homecoming has been around since the 19th century. Homecoming consist of a King and Queen, and also a prince and princess. The king and queen are completing their last year of high school, 12th grade. It is usually students that nominate their classmates for this. They vote, and they are then announced. They always do a dance and a game for homecoming. They even sometimes announce that king and queen there. Homecoming dance is usually a formal event, that you can spend time with your friends. It is almost like a fall prom, and is usually located in the school’s field or gym. Everyone has to dress fromal for this. For guys, it is mostly a nice tuxedo. For girls on the other hand is a nice, formal dress that isn’t inappropriate. The dress has to be about knee length. It is called homecoming game because it is a football game played in the field, a day before homecoming. It is also a tradition that the boy gives his date a wrist flower, or it can be a flower pinned to her dress. The girl on the other hand, has to give the boy a flower that goes on the pocket of his tuxedo. I think that homecoming is a good event to be able to spend time with your friends. You get to bond more with them. It is also great that you make many good memories with them.
